The Old Quarry

When acquired some 30 years ago this was a fairly barren 9 acre site. With community involvement, tree planting was soon undertaken and since then the site has been left unmanaged to naturally rewild. As the access to this site is extremely difficult, the old quarry has developed into an undisturbed rewilded woodland site of some 30 years maturity, contributing to both habitat and carbon capture in the area.
